Banned EpisodesBeauty and the beachSeries: Original Series Episode Number: 18 Link: YouTube Details: This episode was banned by 4kids as James of team rocket is shown with 'inflatable breasts' and in a bikini. It was eventually aired on June 24 2000, but all scenes of James in the bikini were edited out. Tentacool And Tentacruel Series: Original Series Episode Number: 19 Link: YouTube Details: This episode was banned after the 9/11 attacks as the attack of the Tentacruel bared similarities to the attack on the world trade centre. The Tower Of Terror Series: Original Series Episode Number: 23 Link: YouTube Details: This episode was also banned after the 9/11 attacks, but was banned because of the title of the episode rather that the content. The episode was later unbanned in 2004. The Legend of Dratini Series: Original Series Episode Number: 35 Link: MySpace (English Subs) Details: This episode was also banned by 4kids, this time because the episode contained guns violence, although no one was shot, 'warning shots' were fired and they were used to threaten the main characters. the removal of this episode caused a problem with the story though, as in this episode ash catches 30 Tauros. These 30 Tauros are mentioned in later episodes and even used by Ash in the indigo league and other battles. Although in the 4kids English dubs, it is stated that they came from the safari zone, Ash is never shown catching them. Electric Soldier Porygon Series: Original Series Episode Number: 38 Link: DailyMotion (English Subs) Details: This episode was banned straight after its release in Japan because it contained a scene with bright flashing lights that caused a large number of children to have epileptic fits. A scare in the Air Series: Pokemon: Original Series Episode Number: 84 Link: YouTube Details: This episode was originally banned because of the name having similarities of that of the 9/11 attacks, however 4kids renamed the episode 'Spirits in the Sky' to get around the ban. But now the episode has now been changed back to its original name. The Ice Cave! Series: Pokemon: Master Quest Episode Number: 252 Link: MySpace(English Subs) Details: This episode was never released outside of Asia as it was skipped by 4kids. This episode was banned for two reasons. The first reason was because of the pokemon Jynx, which was seen as a 'racial stereotype' of African Americans. The Jynx face colour was later changed to purple. It was also banned because Brock suffers from a 'fever' which has similar symptoms to SARS as at the time influenza was going around. However this was said to be a myth and was officially said only to be banned because of the Jynx's stereotype. The Bicker The Better Series: Pokemon: Advanced (Challenge) Episode Number: 348 Link: VodPod Details: This episode was removed, as some countries believed that the romantic theme of the episode was too advanced for a childrens cartoon. Shaking Island Battle! Barboach Vs Whiscash! Series: Pokemon: Advanced (Battle) Episode Number: 377 Link: YouTube (japanese preview)If you have a link for the full episode please send me it ^^. Details: This episode was banned because it involved earthquakes and was 'skipped' as it contained similarities to that of the Chuetsu earthquake that took place about two weeks before the episodes planned release. This episode was the first episode to be banned/canceled before being shown in Japan. Ash And May! Heated Battle In Hoenn! Series: Pokemon: Advanced (Battle) Episode Number: 397 Link: None. Please send me one if you have it ^^. Details: Not so much banned, but just not shown outside of Japan. This was simply because it was entirely made up of old episode clips. |
